“How can we know the dancer from the dance?”
— W. B. Yeats
My journey with the ancient Indian dance form of Kuchipudi began when I was just 6 years old. My beloved Nani first brought me to dance classes where I had the privilege of being trained by world-renowned doyens of dance, Guru Raja & Radha Reddy ji and Kaushalya Reddy ji. Their love, warmth, and grace has nurtured me all these years, and they have taught me the meaning of true dedication and excellence.
Over a decade later, Kuchipudi is now meditation for me. When I dance, I connect to my inner self, catalyzing my personal growth. Kuchipudi has infused core values of discipline and determination, with nuanced implications of leadership and cultural pride in me. Whether dancing at my school, the Shri Ram School’s Founders’ Day, or performing for SPIC MACAY, celebrating this legacy is an honor that I don’t take for granted.
August 2025 marked a very special milestone for me — my first solo performance in front of my Gurus was a rite of passage, one I am extremely privileged to share with all of you. I would like to thank my parents Sonia and RPN Singh, my sisters Yamini and Ragini, my grandmother Mohini Devi, and my late Nani Amrita Varma for their love and belief in me, as well as so many others who have supported me on this journey
